Cam Security receives Pacific Business News 2009 Fastest 50 Award

Since 1995, Pacific Business News and Fastest 50 sponsor First Hawaiian Bank have been honoring the state’s fastest-growing small businesses.

Cam Security, a local owned & operated security company store in Honolulu, has been awarded the “Ho‘oulu – Hawaii’s Fastest 50 – celebrating the speed of small business.” Cam Security now has the honor of being one of the fifty fastest-growing small businesses in Hawaii. The company, which has been in business since 2005, has shown that they have more than tripled in growth over the past three years. Between From 2005 to 2008, Cam Security’s revenue growth was over a thousand percent.

“We certainly didn’t expect to win – let alone be the one of the fastest-growing company in the state,” exclaimed Arthur Ikeda, one of the three owners of Cam Security.

To qualify for the awards, companies must have been in business for at least three years as of January 1, 2009. In addition, each company must have revenues of more than $100,000 but less than $10 million in each of the last three years; and be an independent, privately owned corporation, sole proprietorship, or partnership based in Hawaii.

Arthur Ikeda along with founding partner Asa Ikeda opened their flagship store in lower Waialae Ave. Since then, Cam Security has expanded both their physical operations and staff. Travis Saffery came on board full time in 2007 as a third partner and now leads the Cam Security technicians; with his knowledgeable expertise, he helps customers who feel the need to secure their home or business. The Cam Security location has more than tripled their floor space since opening.
